Health and Wellness

Fremantle Ports’ well-established Health and Wellness program has been developed to provide employees with health education and physical opportunities to promote healthy lifestyle behaviours. The Health and Wellness program includes activities such as flu vaccinations, skin cancer screening and other health checks, CPR and other first aid training and health awareness sessions on a wide range of topics such as diet and nutrition, stress management and back care. A number of the initiatives include opportunities for participation both by employees and their immediate families.

Employee Assistance Program

Fremantle Ports has an established Employee Assistance Program available to all employees and their immediate family members. Services including counselling, psychotherapy and referrals for help in resolving any problems at work or home which leave you feeling unhappy stressed or depressed. The service is strictly private and confidential and is free of charge to all employees and their immediate family.

Social Club

Fremantle Ports has a very active social club! Members can join in a variety of social events such as special functions, movie and theatre nights, and have access to discounted tickets for activities such as concerts, the Perth Royal Show and ferry travel to Rottnest.. Other benefits include use of a fully equipped gymnasium that’s available to use 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

Education Assistance Program

Fremantle Ports is committed to assisting its employees to obtain the educational skills necessary to discharge their responsibilities efficiently and effectively, with the overall aim of enhancing  organisational performance. Fremantle Ports supports its employees by providing training to help develop your skills for the work you are doing and you’re potential for other positions within Fremantle Ports. Furthermore, we have established an Employee Development System/Skills Development System to use to help you develop in your job and manage your career.

Flexible Working Arrangements

Fremantle Ports recognises that employees have different family, community and social responsibilities and obligations. We also recognise that for employees to fulfil these responsibilities and continue to work, our workplace needs to provide a certain amount of flexibility in regard to hours and leave arrangements. Fremantle Ports can accommodate, where practicable, a number of opportunities to encourage greater work life balance including up to an additional 4 weeks purchased leave annually, flexibility in start and finishing times, acquiring time in lieu, ability to work from home where operationally viable, part time, job share, special leave, compassionate leave and extended leave without pay.

Location

Fremantle Ports operates at three locations, Fremantle Inner Harbour, the Kwinana Bulk Terminal and the Kwinana Bulk Jetty. The Fremantle Administration building is only a short walk to the Fremantle central business district and Fishing Boat Harbour, including cafés, shopping and restaurants.
