The selection process may include some or all of the following:

  • assessment of resume and work history
  • panel interview/s
  • pre-employment medical and supervised drug and alcohol test (including Mines Health Surveillance examination for some employees working at our Kwinana site)
  • psychometric assessments
  • reference checking
  • providing a National Police Clearance.

As part of the selection process you will need to provide: 

  • an up-to-date resume
  • relevant cover letter
  • residency and visa entitlements
  • copy of qualifications and relevant licences
  • names and contact details of referees of current or recent managers.

Feedback and appeals are both sanctioned by Fremantle Ports: 

  • You may seek feedback when you have been advised of your application outcome.
  • Feedback is normally provided verbally or you may request written feedback.
  • There is no formal appeal provision against another candidate, however, applicants have a right to lodge a grievance if they consider there has been a breach of selection standards.

Fremantle Ports endeavours to notify all candidates of their application outcome within 4-6 weeks, however, in some circumstances it may take longer. All applicants will be notified by email or telephone as to whether they have progressed to the next stage of recruitment.
