The new Western Australian Maritime Museum, at Forrest Landing, creates an opportunity for a significant landmark structure. Fremantle Waterfront recognises the dramatic context and opportunities of the site. The Oberon class submarine, the former HMAS Ovens, is sited on the adjoining slipway. This provides a complementary external exhibit for the Maritime Museum.
