Fremantle Ports regards the community as being an important stakeholder in its operations.

Fremantle Ports has two community liaison groups which meet quarterly:

  • Inner Harbour Community Liaison Group, in Fremantle (chaired by Dr Simon Avenell)
  • Kwinana Community Liaison Group (formerly Outer Harbour Community Liaison Group), in Kwinana (chaired by Chris Leatt-Hayter).

Recent minutes from these meetings are available on this page.

The aim of the Community Liaison Program is to provide regular two-way communication on issues of mutual interest:

  • to enable Fremantle Ports to better understand community perspectives

  • and to enhance community understanding of the needs of the working port.

Fremantle Ports also undertakes regular liaison with local authorities in the Inner and Outer Harbour areas and with other groups. Briefings are also given to representatives from a wide variety of organisations.
