Employees at Fremantle Ports are encouraged to undertake regular community volunteering and donate to worthwhile local charities through our WAVE (Workplace Altruism and Volunteering Employee) program. The program was introduced as part of the Employee Engagement Program in 2014 so that employees could contribute to the community and undertake valuable team-building volunteering activities. Fremantle Ports partnered with United Way WA to manage workplace giving and volunteering activities.
The Workplace Giving program was set up to encourage employees to nominate an amount of their choice to be deducted from their pre-tax salary to go directly to a charity. The donations are made to ‘make a difference’, ensuring our employees see a tangible result from their personal donations. Our workplace giving program currently supports Wanslea Family Services and the Shenton Park Dogs' Refuge Home.
The Workplace volunteering program at Fremantle Ports is central to the culture and values of the business. Led by United Way WA’s Corporate Connect initiative (Team Volunteering), our employees have recently volunteered by ...
... cooking for homeless people at Manna Inc. (Victoria Park) and ...
... packing Christmas hampers at St Patrick's Community Care Centre (Fremantle).
