A strong emphasis on risk analysis helped Fremantle Ports to achieve the rigorous ISO 14001 environmental management standard, as well as the safety standard AS/NZS 4801 and the quality standard ISO 9001.

We recognise the importance of operating our business in a way that meets stringent international standards, and the achievement of our safety, environmental and quality certification has been a major goal.

Fremantle Ports' focus on risk analysis has enabled us to identify opportunities for improvement, to prioritise areas for systems upgrading and to implement improvement plans for our safety, environmental and quality management systems.

Ongoing improvement of our emergency response plans is an example, and our capacity to respond in the event of an emergency has received favourable comment from ISO 14001 auditors.

Fremantle Ports is one of only a few Australian organisations to have achieved triple certification to the safety, environmental and quality standards. Maintaining this certification requires regular external auditing to ensure that our management systems continue to comply with the standards.
