“WHAT IF” I NEED TO DROP OFF GOODS, PROVIDE SERVICES OR UNDERTAKE WORKS IN A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE?
You will need to have a valid MSIC and Access Card before entry will be granted or you must have made arrangements to be escorted by a person who possesses a valid MSIC and Access Card.
“WHAT IF” I NEED TO PICK UP SOMETHING FROM A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE?
You will need to have a valid MSIC and Access Card before entry will be granted or you must have made arrangements to be escorted by a person who is in possession of a valid MSIC and Access Card.
“WHAT IF” I HAVE ENGAGED A CONSULTANT TO DO SOME WORK IN A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE?
The consultant will need to have a valid MSIC and Access Card before entry will be granted or you must have made arrangements for the consultant to be escorted by a person who possesses a valid MSIC and Access Card.
“WHAT IF” I WANT TO BRING A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER INTO A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE? (Applies to Australian citizens only.)
Unless the friend or family member has a valid MSIC and Access Card you must arrange for the friend or family member to be escorted by a person who possesses a valid MSIC and Access Card before entry will be granted.
"WHAT IF” I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO ATTEND AN EVENT AT THE OVERSEAS PASSENGER TERMINAL?
Events at the Overseas Passenger Terminal will be conducted in public areas and you will not require an MSIC or Access Card to attend events.
“WHAT IF” I HAVE ARRANGED FOR A TAXI TO PICK ME UP FROM A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE?
The taxi driver will need to possess a valid MSIC and Access Card before entry will be granted, otherwise the taxi will be instructed to wait at the gate and the passenger will need to make their way to the gate to the taxi.
“WHAT IF” I ARRIVE AT A MARITIME SECURITY ZONE IN A TAXI?
Unless the taxi driver possesses a valid MSIC and Access Card, the taxi driver will be instructed to drop you off at the gate. If you have a valid MSIC and Access Card, entry will be granted via the turnstile, otherwise you will be asked to wait at the gate for the escort you must arrange.
“WHAT IF” I DON’T HAVE A MSIC AND ACCESS CARD — HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET ONE?
From 1 January 2007 it is expected that the application will take two to four weeks. In the meantime you will be entitled to unlimited escorting until you take possession of your MSIC and Access Card. You must arrange your own escorting.
