Fremantle Ports has helped the Fremantle Football Club and the Starlight Children's Foundation raise more than $40,000 for the Foundation.
As the anchor sponsor for the Starlight Purple Haze Game, Fremantle Ports has helped the Starlight Children’s Foundation raise more than $40,000, a record-breaking amount for the second year in a row.
This year’s game was Fremantle Football Club versus Port Adelaide at Subiaco Oval on 31 March.
Chief Executive Officer Kerry Sanderson said Fremantle Ports was proud to be associated with the Fremantle Football Club and the Starlight Children’s Foundation—two outstanding and successful organisations.
She also praised the Gold, Silver and Bronze level sponsors who helped to support the game.
“This is our second year as anchor sponsor for Purple Haze and it’s a sponsorship we particularly enjoy,” Kerry Sanderson said.
“Knowing that our efforts bring joyful experiences to seriously ill and hospitalised children is something in which we take great pride, and it makes all the effort worthwhile.
“I want to thank the Fremantle Football Club and the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the opportunity to be the anchor sponsor again this year.
“I also want to thank our fellow sponsors for joining us to help make the Starlight Purple Haze Game fundraiser such a success.”
Fremantle Ports staff, family and friends were among the many people who rattled tins at Subiaco Oval before the Starlight Purple Haze Game.
Two days before the game, Fremantle Ports held a successful fundraising Purple Haze breakfast attended by more than 200 staff, tenants, representatives of Fremantle businesses, family and friends.
The highlight of the sausage-sizzle breakfast, held in bracing conditions at a port workshop, were visits from Dockers players Aaron Sandilands, Des Headland, Ryan Murphy and Chris Tarrant, and senior coach Chris Connolly.
