Queen Elizabeth 2 visiting Fremantle 8am-7pm Wed 5 March

Spectators are advised to use public transport to visit the Port of Fremantle to watch ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 when it departs the port for the last time at 7pm on Wednesday 5 March.

The legendary ship will arrive at Fremantle's Inner Harbour at 8am and leave at 7pm on the same day.

The best vantage points for the arrival and departure will be North Mole, South Mole and the western end of Victoria Quay between the Ferry Terminal and the Maritime Museum. See map.

People are urged to catch trains or buses to the Fremantle train station instead of driving to Victoria Quay or South Mole. Parking will be very limited throughout Fremantle and North Mole, and people should allow plenty of time to park and walk. Aim to be in position by 6.30pm.

Members of yachting associations and recreational craft boat users are invited to help escort the vessel as it leaves the port for the last time. See Information for Recreational Craft.

As the QE2 will be decommissioned in November this year to become a floating hotel in Dubai, it will be the last chance to see the ship in Fremantle.

On a world cruise, the QE2 is visiting Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide and Albany before reaching Fremantle and will be sailing onto Singapore.

More information on the ship is available in the Cunard QE2 Fact Sheet and on the Cunard website, which includes a bridge webcam.
