Fremantle will be turning purple in March to support the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Jacarandas might bloom in spring but Fremantle will be turning purple in March.

The Starlight Purple Haze Game is on Saturday 29 March when Fremantle plays Hawthorn at 5.40pm.

As anchor sponsor of the game, Fremantle Ports will be aiming to help the Fremantle Football Club raise more than last year’s record of $43,363 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Fremantle Ports is holding several fundraising events for the port and shipping community, and is encouraging Fremantle businesses to “Haze Your Business”, as well as encouraging port staff to rattle tins before the Purple Haze Game.

“This year, in our third year as anchor sponsor, we will be aiming for another record,” said Fremantle Ports CEO Kerry Sanderson.

“Fremantle Ports staff have shown in the past two years that they enjoy the opportunity to help seriously ill children and their families through rattling tins before the game and attending our Purple Haze staff breakfast a few days before.

“About 100 port staff and their families contributed to the success of the Starlight Purple Haze Game last year.”

Haze Your Business

Fremantle shop windows and businesses are set to turn purple in March for the second year through “Haze Your Business”.

Businesses can register for the competition by emailing hazeyourbusiness@fremantlefc.com.au and they will receive a Purple Haze pack, including a Starlight fundraising tin, to kick start their decorating.

Emailing a photo of the decorated workplace to the same address puts them in the running for the prize. All participating businesses will be mentioned on the Purple Haze section of the Fremantle Football Club’s website.

The winning workplace will receive 10 tickets to the game, a Purple Haze playing guernsey signed by the team members who play in the game, a twin pack of Chalice Bridge wines and invitations to join Fremantle Ports staff and Fremantle players for Fremantle Ports' Purple Haze breakfast on Thursday 27 March. Businesses will be judged between 24–26 March.
