Spruce up for Fremantle Lighthouses

The lighthouse on North Mole has received its regular two-or three yearly re-paint to ensure it is in good condition and clearly visible.

North Mole lighthouse has had its regular repaint to ensure it is in good condition and clearly visible.

Navigational Aids Coordinator Jack Merola said the repaint would control corrosion and fading, ensuring the colour was a strong red to indicate the port side of the port.

Jack said the lighthouse door was also repaired as it had been vandalised.

The painting was carried out by contractors in working hours, and didn’t affect the light’s operation or use of North Mole for recreational activities such as fishing.

Repaint and maintenance of South Mole lighthouse has begun.
