Road repairs at North Mole following storm damage are nearing completion, and work on the seawall is expected to start soon
Seawall repairs at North Mole following storm damage are nearing completion, and work on the Rous Head seawall is expected to start soon.
Severe storms in May 2003 resulted in extensive undermining of the road, and displacement of rocks that make up the sea walls.
The work to the North Mole is scheduled for completion before Easter and shortly after that the area will be open to the public.
"We are very conscious of the value placed by the community on having access to this area, and we will be opening the North Mole as soon as it is safe.
"In the meantime, we thank the community for being patient while the work is carried out, " Kerry Sanderson said.
