The new International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) comes into effect world-wide on 1 July 2004. New federal legislation is now in place, giving effect to the Australian implementation and interpretation of the code.
As part of Fremantle Ports increased security measures photographic identification access cards will be issued to all regular port users.
Implementation of the new system is scheduled for completion in late October. Current photographic identification will remain valid until then.
