80 students from the Fremantle region learnt about their own capabilities and working with others on a Leeuwin Ocean Adventure day-sail sponsored by Fremantle Ports.
Fremantle Ports has sponsored a leadership day-sail for 80 students from the Fremantle region aboard the Sail Training Ship Leeuwin.
As part of the on-board activities during the cruise off Fremantle, the students rotated through a number of duty stations on the vessel. Activities were designed to help them learn about the Leeuwin, their own capabilities and working with others.
The students were selected by their schools to take part in this leadership development opportunity. Some participants have also completed the City of Fremantle Youth Leadership Program and others volunteered to help during the Leeuwin's refit in May.
Fremantle Ports provides ongoing support to the STS Leeuwin by waiving port fees and charges, and maintaining the ship's berth on Victoria Quay.
