QE2 Departs Fremantle 4PM Friday

The departure of one of the world’s most famous ocean liners, Queen Elizabeth 2, from Fremantle at 4 PM Friday 18 February is expected to attract crowds of spectators to the port.

The arrival of one of the world's most famous ocean liners, Queen Elizabeth 2 at Fremantle early on Thursday 17 February is expected to attract crowds of spectators to the port.

The QE2 will berth at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal at approximately 7.30 am on Thursday February 17, and is due to depart at 4.00 pm on Friday 18 February.

Another luxury liner, the Delphin Renaissance, will be alongside the Passenger Terminal at approximately 9.00 am on Thursday 17 February, departing at 6.00 pm the same day.

The North and South Moles will provide excellent vantage points for spectators as the vessels arrive and depart.

Neither ship will be open to visitors. The Passenger Terminal will be closed from 7 pm on Thursday evening and will re-open at 8 am Friday morning.

The QE2, one of the great trans-Atlantic liners, was the flagship of the Cunard Line for more than 30 years. The ship has five restaurants, three swimming pools, a 481-seat cinema and a casino.

The Delphin Renaissance, which is just over 30,000 tons was built in France and entered service in 2000. The liner has four restaurants as well as a sports bar, two freshwater spas, casino, library, outdoor pool and hair salon.
