ANL launched a new, weekly shuttle service in July, connecting Fremantle with Port Kelang and Singapore, with further connections world-wide. The fixed-day Fremantle Asia Express (FAX Service) will operate with two vessels of 1100 teu capacity.
ANL Managing Director John Lines said the new service was introduced in response to requests from ANL’s customers.
“Western Australia’s international trade has been growing strongly and our customers are looking for increased space and frequency,” he said. “Our new FAX Service will provide exporters and importers with improved access to South-East Asia and beyond, with the ANL and CMA CGM Group global services.”
In addition, in August, Anl with parent company Cma-Cgm, will start the AEU-1 Nemo service calling at Fremantle on a northbound rotation offering direct calls to Jakarta, Port Kelang, Chennai, Colombo and European main ports direct. This is, in effect, a second direct service from Fremantle calling to Europe and represents another four calls per month, making 12 in total with other services.
