In progressing its commitment to sustainability, Fremantle Ports has developed a Sustainability Framework aligned with the Western Australian State Sustainability Strategy.
As part of this Framework, Fremantle Ports has developed draft guidelines to encourage sustainable design in all proposed buildings, structures and improvements within the port boundaries, including those proposed by Fremantle Ports and its tenants. The guidelines, drafted with the help of specialist consultants, will be a point of reference on how to improve overall energy and water use efficiency as well as improving amenity and minimising the impact of development on the environment. The guidelines are designed to work with port security and operations, planning policies, development guidelines, landscaping plans, structure plans, port development plans, the Building Code of Australia and other legislative and regulatory requirements.
