Fremantle Ports has identified an opportunity to develop a marina in Rous Head Harbour to take advantage of its:

  • premium deepwater location with respect to boating destinations of the Swan River, Rottnest Island and Cockburn Sound
  • access to 500m of ocean frontage and uninterrupted views across the Indian Ocean
  • setting within the interesting and diverse environment of the working Port of Fremantle.

The development vision for the site incorporates the provision of a sizeable marina (incorporating both wet and dry boat storage) complemented by an integrated landside development incorporating a variety of uses that could potentially include:

  • cafes and restaurants
  • offices
  • some limited retail space
  • tourism-based uses, including the operation of charter vessels
  • other maritime-related activities.
