Total port trade through Fremantle Ports was 25 million mass tonnes in 2006-07, with the total value of trade worth $24 billion. The Port of Fremantle accounts for 83% by value of WA's seaborne imports and 25% by value of WA's seaborne exports.

Since 1990-91, total port trade has grown by 53%.

Trade with East, South East and Southern Asia amounted to 48% of total port trade in 2006-07 (up from 34% in 1996-1997). Australian coastal trade increased by 22.7% since last year.
