Walking
Fremantle and the port are great places to walk around. You can walk around Victoria Quay, South Mole, the historic West End of Fremantle and Fishing Boat Harbour. There are also a number of self-guided tours available of Victoria Quay and the city of Fremantle which will ensure you don’t miss any of the many sites and attractions. See Fremantle Walking Trails.
Cycling
Fremantle is a great location to visit and explore by bike. Information on cycling and cycle paths is on the Department of Transport website. There is a cycle path which leads to Victoria Quay and South Mole.
If you don’t have your own bicycle, the City of Fremantle’s Free Wheeling Fremantle initiative is a free bike hire service which is suitable for adults and teenagers. You can use the bikes anywhere in the Fremantle area, allowing you to explore the city at your own leisurely pace.
Bikes are available from Wednesday to Sunday, 9.00 am–5.00 pm from Harbour Bike Hire, Shop 76, E Shed, Victoria Quay. Helmets are supplied, and a credit card imprint is required for security purposes. For more information, free call 1800 888 898.
