Fremantle Ports Harbour Master Classic fun run
Mark 4 May 2025 in your diary for the Fremantle Ports Harbour Master Classic and start training for Perth’s most scenic fun run!
This is your chance to run fast, flat, fun and traffic-free, along Fremantle Port’s historic Victoria Quay and out to the South Mole lighthouse. Whether you are a serious runner or are looking for a post-summer challenge, this event is for you.
The Harbour Master Classic is a West Australian Marathon Club event starting in front of the iconic E Shed and this year heading west towards the Western Australian Maritime Museum, past the historic HMAS Ovens submarine and east by the quaint Slip Street sheds. As you pass Challenger TAFE, enjoy the sweeping views of Bathers Beach and Cockburn Sound as you make way on the port side of the road to South Mole lighthouse, and return to Victoria Quay with magnificent views of the Inner Harbour.
Challenge yourself with the 5km or 10 km event and enjoy the scenery of Australia’s best maritime gateway. Get a school team together, run with the football/netball club or in a family group. Pram-pushers are welcome, and there’s a kids’ run, too.
Spot prizes will be awarded on the day (including best nautical costume!) and all finishers will receive a medal.
Runners are encouraged to get to the event by train, with Fremantle Railway Station just 300m from the start line. (Trains arriving at Fremantle from 7.15am). Bag drop is available in E Shed, so bring a jumper so you can enjoy the post-race entertainment on Victoria Quay.
