Land-based fishing spots include the wharf along Victoria Quay and west of O’Connor Ferry Landing, North Mole (follow the signs to Rous Head) and South Mole, near the river mouth.
A fishing platform for disabled access is located at North Mole.

North Mole closures
The gates to North Mole are closed when certain dangerous conditions prevail — that is, when there is a high swell and strong north-westerly winds.
Fremantle Ports closes the gates if conditions do not look safe for the public. The decision is not based on whether the swell is a certain height or whether the wind is a certain speed.
During business hours, a notice is placed on this website when North Mole is closed and when it is re-opened.
However, if weather conditions include a high swell and strong north-westerly winds causing dangerous conditions for fishers on the mole, the mole gates will probably be shut.
